In a remarkable gesture of commitment to education, Peter Obi recently returned to Grimard College of Nursing Sciences in Anyigba, Kogi State, to fulfill a pledge he made three months ago. During his previous visit, Obi donated ₦10 million to support the college’s educational programs. At that time, the institution’s leadership, including the Proprietor and Rector, had expressed an urgent need for a 32-seater coaster bus. This bus was vital for students’ clinical experience visits, an essential component for the college’s accreditation.
With the cost of a brand-new bus now exceeding ₦100 million, Bishop Most Rev. Dr. Anthony Adaji recommended that a fairly used bus within the range of ₦20 to ₦30 million would meet the college’s needs. True to his word, Peter Obi returned to present a well-maintained, fairly used 32-seater bus, offering a practical solution to the college’s transportation challenges.
In addition to the bus, Obi donated ₦5 million to cover the cost of registration, insurance, and other expenses for the bus over the next year. The college’s management and staff warmly received Obi, expressing deep gratitude for his continued support.
Peter Obi reaffirmed his commitment to supporting Grimard College, recognizing their critical role in both education and healthcare. His actions reflect a broader vision of creating a better Nigeria, one in which investments in education and health are prioritized to foster societal growth and development.
This gesture is a testament to Obi’s belief in the transformative power of education and healthcare, which he sees as the pillars of a stronger, more prosperous nation. His contributions to Grimard College illustrate his dedication to building a new Nigeria, one where progress is both possible and achievable.
This story underscores Peter Obi’s enduring commitment to education and health initiatives, and highlights the practical steps he is taking to support institutions that contribute to societal well-being.
