The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) announced that power will be restored to several northern states by November 3, following repairs to transmission lines that were damaged by vandalism. These efforts are focused on the Ugwuaji–Apir line, which is essential for transmitting electricity to cities like Jos, Kaduna, and Kano.
While one of the two affected lines has been partially restored, TCN engineers are working under tight security due to bandit activity in the area, which has hindered the repair timeline. For now, TCN is transmitting around 400 MW to select areas and expects to increase this to 500-600 MW by Sunday, providing relief to 17 affected northern states.
