
President Bola Tinubu recently held his first meeting with Zacch Adedeji, Chairman of the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS), following his return from a two-week working vacation in London.
During the meeting, discussions centered around Nigeria’s ongoing tax reforms and efforts to enhance revenue collection.Adedeji, who has been instrumental in modernizing Nigeria’s tax system, briefed Tinubu on the FIRS’ ambitious goals, including the N19.4 trillion revenue target for 2024. The meeting also highlighted strategies for using technology to improve tax compliance and reduce leakages, ensuring that the administration’s fiscal reforms stay on track.
