
Paul Bamba, the Puerto Rican boxer who recently secured the WBA Gold Cruiserweight title, has passed away at the age of 35. His manager, singer Ne-Yo, confirmed the news on December 27, 2024.
Bamba achieved a remarkable feat in 2024 by winning all 14 of his fights by knockout, setting a new record for the most knockouts in a calendar year. He was also the first fighter signed to Ne-Yo’s sports management company.
The cause of Bamba’s death has not been disclosed. Ne-Yo described him as an “outstanding individual” with “exceptional drive,” adding that he “inspired many through his determination.”
Bamba’s passing has been met with an outpouring of tributes from fans and fellow athletes, including Jake Paul, who expressed his condolences on social media.
