The Nigerian Supreme Court has dismissed a suit seeking the removal of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu over allegations of ties to the CIA and involvement in drug-related activities. The court described the case as lacking merit and an abuse of judicial process.
The petitioner, whose identity was not disclosed in the ruling, had alleged that Tinubu’s presidency was compromised by these claims. However, the court found no substantial evidence to support the allegations and criticized the petitioner for wasting the court’s time.
In addition to dismissing the suit, the court imposed a fine on the petitioner as a deterrent to frivolous lawsuits and to preserve judicial resources.
The decision reaffirms President Tinubu’s position as Nigeria’s duly elected leader and underscores the judiciary’s role in upholding the rule of law.
