In a bold declaration, the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has issued a stark ultimatum to terrorists, stating, “Surrender or die from our firepower.” This warning comes amid ongoing military operations aimed at combating the persistent threats posed by various non-state actors across the nation.
President Bola Tinubu underscored this message during a recent lecture, emphasizing the government’s resolve to eradicate the scourge of banditry and terrorism that has plagued Nigeria for over 15 years. Represented by National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu, the president declared that the government will employ both kinetic and non-kinetic strategies to deal with these criminal elements, vowing that their days are numbered.
The president characterized the perpetrators as “cowards” and “idiots,” urging them to lay down their arms and seek a peaceful resolution. He expressed frustration at the interference these groups have caused in the daily lives of citizens, affecting commerce, education, and public safety. Tinubu assured the public that the administration is committed to restoring order and will not hesitate to take decisive action against those who continue to perpetrate violence.
The ultimatum highlights the government’s commitment to addressing the rampant kidnappings and armed robbery that have escalated in recent years. With promises to enhance security measures and tackle corruption within government ranks, the administration seeks to reassure Nigerians of its dedication to their safety and well-being.
