The political climate in Ondo State has become increasingly charged as Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa dismissed his Special Assistant on Forestry, Mr. Adeboye Taofiq Ewenla, amid rising concerns about corruption and governance within the state administration. This development has only added fuel to the already growing tensions in Ondo, with the November 2024 gubernatorial election looming.
Aiyedatiwa’s move comes at a time when his administration is under intense scrutiny. As the gubernatorial elections approach, the governor faces pressure not only from opposition parties but also from within his own political base. Internal disputes and accusations of mismanagement are threatening the unity of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state, raising fears that the party could struggle to maintain control in the upcoming elections.
