President Bola Tinubu recently extended his congratulations to the Oba of Benin, Oba Ewuare II, in celebration of his 71st birthday and the eighth anniversary of his ascension to the throne. In his message, Tinubu praised the Oba for his leadership, emphasizing the monarch’s role in preserving Benin’s rich cultural heritage and fostering peace and unity within the kingdom.
He also highlighted the Oba’s distinguished diplomatic career, which included serving as Nigeria’s ambassador to several countries, and commended his efforts in securing the return of stolen Benin artefacts. Tinubu wished the Oba continued success and well-being in his reign, noting the monarch’s contributions to civic responsibility and democracy in Nigeria.
