A U.S. court recently acquitted Allen Onyema, the CEO of Air Peace, of charges related to a $20 million bank fraud case, while fining his co-defendant, Ebony Mayfield, $4,000 and placing her on probation for three years. The case centered around allegations of fraudulent Letters of Credit used to purchase aircraft. However, Onyema’s legal team successfully argued that no bank suffered financial loss, and all funds involved were legitimate.
Mayfield, a former employee of Springfield Aviation, admitted to her limited involvement, which led to her plea bargain. Although Onyema was cleared of these charges, other fraud and money laundering charges against him remain pending.
