Social media activist VeryDarkMan filed a formal complaint against Nigerian lawmaker Alex Ikwechegh after a video surfaced showing Ikwechegh allegedly assaulting a Bolt driver delivering items to his Abuja home. In the footage, Ikwechegh appears to berate and slap the driver, reportedly feeling disrespected by the driver’s request for him to retrieve the delivery. The driver later recounted that Ikwechegh detained him with police intervention, leaving him held at the station and preventing him from making calls during the incident.
Following public outcry, the Nigerian police summoned Ikwechegh, expressing concern over his alleged use of influence to intimidate others. The case has garnered significant attention, and Ikwechegh was questioned by the police on October 28, 2024.
