Nigerian social media influencer VeryDarkMan, also known as Martins Vincent Otse, was recently arrested and faces multiple charges under Nigeria’s Cybercrime Act. His charges include alleged cyberstalking, which reportedly involves posting content on his Instagram account that the authorities claim is offensive or false, with accusations aimed at various public figures.
Among the allegations, he is accused of sharing false statements involving Nigerian celebrities like Iyabo Ojo and Tonto Dikeh, as well as Nigerian police and lawmakers. These claims reportedly include unverified statements that police and politicians were involved in inappropriate activities with Bobrisky, the popular cross-dresser. Authorities argue that his posts were intended to cause harm, intimidation, or inconvenience to those mentioned.
He has been remanded in custody, with his court appearance expected soon.
