Bushra Bibi, the wife of former Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan, has been released from jail after being granted bail by the Islamabad High Court.
Her release comes nine months after her arrest in January 2024. She and Imran Khan were convicted in the Toshakhana corruption case, which involved the sale of state gifts they had received.
Both were sentenced to 14 years in prison as part of the case. Bushra Bibi’s bail was granted following the suspension of her sentence, while Imran Khan remains imprisoned on other charges.
